Don’t compete, Excel. Build a brand with a backbone that holds up in the real world.

Erwin Giezen is a brand strategist and creative director with over 15 years of experience building brands from the inside out. He works at the intersection of strategy, identity and execution, helping brands turn ideas into systems that actually get used.

“I build brands that hold up. Clear in positioning, consistent in identity, and alive in the way people show up every day. I lead The Growers and work close to leaders and teams where decisions are made and change needs to land. Fast analysis, sharp alignment, and strategy that turns into real world momentum.”

Fast analysis. Sharp alignment. Brands built for the real world.

My mind unraveled

My brain is wired for patterns. I walk into an organisation and I start seeing connections immediately: the words people use, the meetings they avoid, the story they tell externally versus the reality internally, and the gap between ambition and behaviour. I love sparring with leaders and management teams on a strategic level, especially when change needs to land in real life. That is where brands either become powerful or become decoration.

I’m unbiased. I say what I think. But I’m political enough to make the truth actionable. I don’t only answer the question that’s asked, I surface the one nobody asked yet, but everyone feels.

I’m a marketing generalist with a designer’s hands. That removes friction. It means we can move from strategy to execution without losing meaning in handovers. I can sharpen direction with leadership and translate it into messaging, identity systems, key pages, decks, campaigns, templates and the everyday assets that build trust. Strategy that never becomes behaviour is theatre. I don’t do theatre.

Growth hacking

I was raised in Woerden (Utrecht) with a head full of plans and hands that wanted to build. Early dreams ran through football, architecture, business, and a constant need to create something real with structure. Football taught me ambition needs discipline. Architecture taught me to think in systems, proportion and context. Business taught me ideas don’t win, execution does.

I studied Architectural Engineering in Utrecht and worked at an architectural firm in The Hague. Later I moved into marketing and brand work in environments where complexity is normal and budgets are never infinite. I learned how to create impact with limited resources, how to position something new without shouting, and how to build brands that travel through complexity. That is where my growth hacker mindset comes from: not gimmicks, but smart moves that create momentum.

What you can hire us for

I build brand systems that scale: positioning, narrative, identity and activation. And for companies who want fast clarity, I offer Branding Advice: a strategic scan of your brand, marketing and communication that shows what to fix first, what to stop, what to sharpen and what to build next. No thick report. A clear mirror and a workable plan. If your ambition is ahead of your brand, that is a good moment to talk. Start with a conversation, not a briefing, and we will get clear on what is real, what is possible, and what the smartest next move is.

Let's drink a coffee together!

Reading the soil. Choosing the colours. Growing the brand.

Brands grow when they stop trying to impress and start trying to be clear. When they choose a lane. When the story becomes repeatable. When the identity behaves across touchpoints. And when the inside and the outside match. Most “marketing problems” are actually alignment problems. Fix the alignment and suddenly everything gets easier.
